Comments: Portrait of my ex-boyfriend Ross, painted after he broke up with me. The loose brushwork and use of layers of thinned paint are an unusual move for me, as I painted purely out of emotion rather than using calculated, precise planning to create the image. Our breakup was largely due to his inability to communicate, hence the omission of the mouth.
